MANOR COLLEGE BASEBALL LOSES GAME TWO OF AN ESAC HOME DOUBLEHEADER VERSUS CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA COLLEGE

ABINGTON, PA—United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Central Pennsylvania College (20-10 overall, 12-2 Eastern States Athletic Conference) scored runs in three of the five innings they batted, as the Knights shut out the Manor College Blue Jays (1-14, 0-11) in game two of a doubleheader, 14-0, in five innings, at Roslyn Park.

Central Pennsylvania batted around in the top of the first inning, scoring five runs.  They added two in the second.  The Knights sent 13 batters to the plate in the third and scored seven runs.

This was Manor's final 2024 regular season home game.

Batting Leaders: Freshman designated hitter Nic Joseph hit for the cycle (single, double, triple, and home run), scored two runs, and knocked in five.  Junior second baseman Owen Zell had two hits (including a triple), walked twice, stole four bases, scored two runs, and knocked in two runs.  Freshman shortstop Brian Lowen walked three times and scored three runs.  Sophomore center fielder Gabe Kaufman contributed two hits (including a double), two walks, two stolen bases, and two runs.  Senior catcher Zachary Haefner had two hits (including a double), and two RBI.  Senior first baseman Adam Hoover walked twice.  Freshman designated runner Tanner McCoy stole two bases for Central Pennsylvania.

Pitching Leaders: Freshman starting pitcher Nick Walter (1-0) pitched the first three innings and allowed two hits (including a triple) and three walks.  Senior Dylan Younghans struck out two in a relief inning, but hit a batter.  Sophomore Anderson Bridwell finished the game, striking out two, allowing a walk, and hitting a batter for the Knights.

Season Series: Manor is 0-5 overall versus Central Pennsylvania (0-2 on the road).

Manor at Home in 2024: The Blue Jays finish the regular season 1-8 overall at home (0-4 at Roslyn Park).

Next Games: Manor travels to play the Bucks County Community College Centurions (7-18, 7-6 as of April 28) for an ESAC road game in its regular season finale on Saturday, May 4 at Noon in Newtown, Pennsylvania.  The Blue Jays are 0-3 overall (0-1 on the road) this season versus the Centurions.  Including Manor's seasons as a NJCAA Region XIX Division III member in 2018 and 2019, they are 1-4 overall (1-2 on the road) versus Bucks County.
