MANOR COLLEGE BASEBALL LOSES GAME ONE OF AN ESAC HOME DOUBLEHEADER VERSUS BUCKS COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE

ABINGTON, PA—United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Bucks County Community College (5-18 overall, 5-6 Eastern States Athletic Conference) scored runs four runs in the fifth and two in the sixth as the Centurions defeated the Manor College Blue Jays (1-9, 0-6) in game one of a doubleheader, 6-4, at Roslyn Park.

This is Manor's first ever game at Roslyn Park.

Manor opened the scoring with a two-run first inning.  Freshman Yerlad Duran (Philadelphia, PA/Abraham Lincoln) walked with one out off of sophomore starting pitcher-shortstop Cameron Visconto.  Senior shortstop-third baseman Eddie Fortescue Jr (Blue Bell, PA/Wissahickon) followed with a triple to left-center field, scoring Duran.  Freshman catcher Anthony Ortiz (Philadelphia, PA/Franklin Towne Charter) two-out sacrifice foul fly to freshman right fielder Alex Fantsaskey scored Fortescue Jr.

The Blue Jays added to its lead in the second.  Freshman starting pitcher-shortstop Juan Regalado (Philadelphia, PA) led off with a triple to freshman left fielder Milo Condran.  Freshman first baseman Christopher Colella (Philadelphia, PA/Bishop McDevitt) one-out infield single to freshman second baseman Justin Rosa scored Regalado.

Manor increased its lead to 4-0 in the fourth.  Freshman second baseman Almanie Reyes Torres (Philadelphia, PA/Abraham Lincoln) singled to Condran and advanced to second on Condran's throwing error.  Reyes Torres advanced to third on Visconto's wild pitch.  Colella reached on Rosa's fielding error with one-out, which scored Reyes Torres.

Regalado kept Bucks County off the scoreboard in the first four innings.  The Centurions had baserunners in scoring position the first (runner on second with none out), second (runners on second and third with one out), third (runners on first and second with one out), and fourth (runner on second with one out), but could not score any runs.

However, Bucks County scored four runs to tie the game in the top of the fifth.  The first four Centurions reached base, including three walks, which scored Bucks County's first run of the game.  Three straight two-out walks, including junior shortstop-relief pitcher Luke Redding's which scored Visconto, tied the game at four.

The Centurions took the lead in the sixth.  Condran's two-out bases-loaded walk scored Visconto. Saulino was then hit by a pitch with the bases loaded which scored freshman third baseman Jose Carrero.

Batting Leaders: Roach had two hits and freshman center fielder-relief pitcher Jimmy Garcia (Philadelphia, PA/Community Academy of Philadelphia) walked twice.

Condran walked four times and scored two runs.  Visconto had two walks and scored two runs.  Freshman first baseman Evan Urglavitch walked twice.  Saulino knocked in two runs.  Freshman designated runner Christian Irving stole two bases for Bucks County.

Pitching Leaders: Regalado started the game for the Blue Jays, striking out five in 4 ⅔ innings and allowing three singles.  Garcia (0-1) pitched an inning of hitless relief, striking out three.  Fortescue Jr finished the game for Manor, pitching 1 ⅓ innings of hitless relief.

Visconto started the game for the Centurions, striking out six in five innings and allowing five hits.  Redding (1-1) won in relief for Bucks County, pitching two scoreless innings, striking out two and allowing singles. 

Season Series: Manor is 1-3 overall versus Bucks County (0-1 at home).

Manor at Home: The Blue Jays are 1-5 overall this season at home (0-1 at Roslyn Park).
