MANOR COLLEGE BASEBALL LOSES USCAA ROAD AND ESAC DEBUTS VERSUS BUCKS COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE

NEWTOWN, PA—The United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Bucks County Community College Centurions (1-4 Overall, 1-0 Eastern States Athletic Conference) defeated the Manor College Blue Jays (1-1, 0-1), 31-3, in five innings, at Brian Seibert Memorial Field. This was the home opener for the USCAA preseason seventh-ranked Centurions.

The Blue Jays were making its USCAA road and ESAC debuts.

This was Manor's first road game since May 2, 2019 when they lost to the NJCAA Region XIX Division III Camden County College Cougars, 14-11, in Blackwood, New Jersey.

Manor scored its first run in top of the first inning when freshman center fielder-pitcher Jimmy Garcia (Philadelphia, PA/Community Academy of Philadelphia) singled to center with one out off of freshman starting pitcher Lucas Kimbrough and stole second.  Freshman second baseman-pitcher Anthony Ortiz' (Philadelphia, PA/Franklin Towne Charter) followed with a single to right, scoring Garcia.

The Blue Jays scored two in the fourth.  Freshman shortstop Juan Regalado (Philadelphia, PA) and freshman catcher-first baseman Narsizo Rivera (Philadelphia, PA/Samuel Fels) walked in consecutive one-out plate appearances.  Freshman pitcher-second baseman-center fielder Almaine Reyes Torres (Philadelphia, PA/Abraham Lincoln) walked to load the bases with two out.  Freshman first baseman-pitcher Christopher Colletta's (Philadelphia, PA/Bishop McDevitt) singled to right, scoring Regalado and Rivera.

Bucks County scored 14 runs in the first, one in the second, six in the third, and 10 in the fifth.

Kimbrough (1-1) struck out 12 and allowed three hits and three walks in five innings.

Season Series: Manor is 1-2 overall versus Bucks County (1-2 on the road).

Manor on the Road: The Blue Jays are 0-1 on the road.  Manor have won five road games in its history.  They last won a road game on April 14, 2018 when they defeated Bucks County, 19-8, in game one of a doubleheader in Newtown.

Next Game: Manor travels to play the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XIX Division III Delaware County Community College Phantoms on Thursday, March 21 in Media, Pennsylvania.   The Blue Jays defeated the Phantoms, 12-11, in game one of a doubleheader on March 9 at Alverthorpe Park in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania.  The second game was postponed due to rain. This is a rescheduled game from that date.  Manor is 2-3 overall versus Delaware County (0-1 on the road).  The Blue Jays previously played at the Phantoms on April 19, 2018 and lost, 20-13.

Next ESAC Game: The Blue Jays travel to play the Central Pennsylvania College Knights in its first ESAC doubleheader on Monday, April 1 at 1 p.m. at First National Bank Stadium on City Island in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.  FNB Stadium is the home of the Harrisburg Senators, a Minor League Class AA Eastern League affiliate of the Major League Washington Nationals.  Manor previously played Central Pennsylvania on May 8, 2018 in its regular season finale at Lawnton Field in Lawnton, Pennsylvania.  The Blue Jays lost, 8-5, in its only series meeting.
