MANOR LOSES GAME TWO OF A DOUBLEHEADER AT ATLANTIC CAPE COMMUNITY COLLEGE

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ—Atlantic Cape Community College (11-11 Overall, 7-7 Region XIX Division III) freshman pitcher Wyatt Stetzer (1-1) threw a complete game, striking out 11 as the Buccaneers defeated the Manor College Blue Jays (4-13, 2-5), 11-2, in game two of a doubleheader at Surf Stadium.

Atlantic Cape scored five two-out runs in the first.  Sophomore third baseman Sean Dillon contributed a RBI single.  Freshman right fielder Phil Santa Maria added a bases clearing triple.

Manor scored its first run in the second.  Sophomore second baseman Sauriel Baez (Philadelphia, PA/Esperanza Charter) doubled to center with one out.  Freshman pitcher Eddie Colon's (Philadelphia, PA/Olney Charter) (0-2) two-out single to center scored Baez and advanced to second on freshman center fielder Brian Dickson's throwing error. The Buccaneers added two its lead in the third, scoring three runs and batted around in the inning.  Sophomore Kyle Eppright contributed a two-out RBI single.

Atlantic Cape closed out its scoring in the fifth, scoring three times.  Freshman Justin Maniero contributed a two-out RBI ground out.  Dillon added a two-out RBI single.

Sophomore shortstop Jose Romero (Philadelphia, PA/Frankford) was hit by a Stetzer pitch to lead off the inning.  Sophomore first baseman Hector Morales' (Philadelphia, PA/Esperanza Charter) single to left moved Romero to second.  Morales and Romero advanced to second and third respectively on a Stetzer wild pitch.  Sophomore Cristian Diaz (Philadelphia, PA/Franklin Towne Charter) walked to load the bases.  Baez' reached on a fielder's choice to right which scored Romero and reloaded the bases. 

Altogether, the Blue Jays had baserunners in every inning except in the fourth and fifth. 

Batting Leaders: Freshman Shawn Vega (Philadelphia, PA/Olney Charter) and Morales each went two-for-four.  Vega also stole two bases. Baez contributed a double and a RBI for the Blue Jays.

Dillon went three-for-four and had two RBI.  Dickson scored three runs, walked three times, and stole three bases.  Santa Maria knocked in three runs and walked twice.  .

Pitching Leaders: Colon started the game.  Diaz struck out five in 3 1/3 innings.  Freshman Yadier Cedeno (Philadelphia, PA/Olney Charter) finished the contest.

Next Game: Manor hosts the nationally-ranked NJCAA Region XIX Division III Northampton Community College Spartans on Thursday, April 11 at Lighthouse Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at 3:30 p.m.  The Spartans are ranked fourth in the latest NJCAA Division III poll (April 2).  Northampton, then ranked seventh, won the inaugural match-up, 13-0, in seven innings in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Next Road Game: The Blue Jays will travel to play the NJCAA Region XIX Division II Lehigh Carbon Community College Cougars on Thursday, April 18 in Schnecksville, Pennsylvania at 3:30 p.m.  Manor lost on the road, 14-3, in seven innings, on April 14, 2018 in Schnecksville.  The Blue Jays lost at home, 9-3, on April 20, 2018, at the Abington Friends School in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania.  This is also Lehigh Carbon's first baseball season at the Division II level.
