MANOR DEFEATED BY LEHIGH CARBON COMMUNITY COLLEGE

SCHNECKSVILLE, PA—Lehigh Carbon Community College (6-10 Overall, 3-2 NJCAA Region XIX Division III, 2-1 EPAC) sophomore center fielder Gianni Sinatore went four-for-four, with five RBI, three runs scored, and a stolen base as the Cougars defeated the Manor College Blue Jays (1-8, 1-7, 0-3), 14-3, in seven innings. 

Lehigh Carbon scored in each inning.  The Cougars scored twice in the first, three in the second, once in the third and fourth, three in the sixth, and batted around in the sixth scoring four times.

The Blue Jays avoided the shutout, scoring three runs in the top of the seventh off of freshman relief pitcher Nolan Cope.  Freshman catcher Abimael Mercado (Philadelphia, PA/Juan Ponce De Leon [PR]) led off with a walk.  Freshman third baseman Jorge Reyes (Philadelphia, PA/Northeast) was hit by a pitch, advancing Mercado to second with one out.  Freshman designated hitter Samuel Pena (Philadelphia, PA/Liceo Vespertino Pedro MIR [DR]) singled to left scoring Mercado and advanced Reyes to second.  Reyes stole third with one out.  Freshman center fielder Abdur-Rauf Mujahid (Philadelphia, PA/Boys Latin) singled to left, scoring Reyes, and Pena moved to third on the play.  Mujahid stole second with one out.  Freshman shortstop Jose Romero (Philadelphia, PA/Frankford) ground out to Rodriguez scored Pena with two out.

Batting Leaders: Mujahid went two-for-four with a RBI and stolen base.  Mercado walked twice, had a hit, and scored a run. 

Freshman left fielder Brett Foulke went three-for-five, including two triples, and a RBI.  Freshman shortstop Ruben Rodriguez added two hits, three runs scored, and a RBI.  Freshman catcher Aaron Joyce contributed two hits, including a double, and a RBI.  Sophomore first baseman Elias Gabel-Tripp walked twice, had a hit, scored a run and stole a base. 

Pitching Leaders: Freshman starting pitcher Jeffrey Salcedo (Philadelphia, PA/Mariana Bracetti) (0-2) struck out five.  Freshman relief pitcher Yorkis German (Philadelphia, PA/Kensington Health and Science) made his Manor pitching debut. 

Freshman starting pitcher Logan Foley (2-0) pitched six innings, striking out six (walking one), allowing four hits, and zero runs.

Next Game: Manor plays the nationally-ranked NJCAA Region XIX Division III Bergen Community College Bulldogs (19-6, 13-5 Region XIX Division III) on Sunday, April 15 in Paramus, New Jersey.  First game is at Noon.  The Bulldogs are ranked fifth in the latest NJCAA Division III Poll (as of April 10, 2018).
