Manor opened up the scoring in the top of the first inning.  Freshman center fielder Abdur-Rauf Mujahid (Philadelphia, PA/Boys Latin) led off the game with a walk.  Freshman shortstop Jose Romero (Philadelphia, PA/Frankford) reached on an infield single to freshman shortstop Dom Wojdyla, and advanced to second Wojdyla's throwing error.  Mujahid went to third on the throwing error. Ocean County freshman starting pitcher Brandon Ryan' throwing error on a pickoff attempt to second base scored Mujahid with none out.

Freshman starting pitcher Nicholas Herrera (Philadelphia, PA/Frankford) became the first Blue Jays pitcher to strike out the side in the bottom of the second when he retired sophomore third baseman Ron Velardi, Wojdyla, and sophomore center fielder Andrew Slinger swinging.

Manor added to its lead in the third inning.  Freshman first baseman Hector Morales (Philadelphia, PA/Esperanza Charter) singled to left with one out.  Herrera reached on freshman third baseman Kyle Lauria's fielding error which also advanced Morales to second.  Freshman left fielder Trevor Schmanek's (Philadelphia, PA/St. Joseph's Prep) single to center advanced Herrera to third, but Morales was thrown out at home plate for the second out.  Freshman third baseman Gilberto Reyes' (Philadelphia, PA/Northeast) single to right scored Herrera for the 2-0 lead.

The Blue Jays held the 2-0 advantage until the bottom of the third when Ocean County sent 11 hitters to the plate, scoring seven times, on three hits, and took advantage of three Manor errors and a walk.  During this inning, freshman right fielder Mike O'Halloran one-out triple to center scored Velardi and Wojdyla.  Slinger's two-out double to center scored O'Halloran.

Manor closed within 7-4 in the top of the fifth.  Freshman second baseman Sauriel Baez (Philadelphia, PA/Esperanza Charter) led off with a walk.  Herrera singled to center, advancing Baez to second. Schmanek reached on a fielder's choice to short, moving Baez to third.  Baez scored on a two-out wild pitch and sophomore catcher Dhillon Barbetti's throwing error advanced Schmanek to third.  Reyes' hit deflected off of second baseman James Papamakariou into right which scored Schmanek on the play.
