MANOR COLLEGE MEN'S BASKETBALL DEFEATED IN ROAD OPENER AT CAIRN UNIVERSITY

LANGHORNE, PA— National College Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Cairn University (1-2) graduate student Mizz Nyagwegwe led both teams with 27 points and seven three-point baskets as the Highlanders defeated United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Division I Manor College (1-2), 91-70. 

Cairn took the lead for good early in the game.   The Highlanders led 56-25 at halftime.  Nyagwegwe led both teams with 14 points.  Junior forward Derian Bradford added 11 points for the Highlanders.  Freshman guard Nasir Collins (Trenton, NJ/Nottingham) led the Blue Jays with 10 first-half points. 

The Blue Jays outscored the Highlanders in the second half, 45-35.  Collins led both teams with 14 second-half points.  Sophomore guard Shyere Mayhue (Philadelphia, PA/People for People Charter) and Nyagwegwe led their respective teams with 13 points each.

Statistical Leaders: Mayhue led Manor with 19 points.  Collins added 16 and paced the team in steals. Junior guard Eddie Fortescue Jr. (Blue Bell, PA/Wissahickon) contributed 14 points.  Freshman guard Larenzo Jackson (Avenel NJ/Colonia) led the Blue Jays in assists.

Bradford had a "double-double" in points and rebounds (19 and led both teams with 14) for Cairn.  He also contributed six assists.  Graduate student forward Kameron Clark added 10 points and 11 rebounds and led the Highlanders in steals.  Graduate student Jesse Rivera led both teams with 11 assists.

Road Openers (Since 1994-1995): The Blue Jays are 10-16 in road openers.  Please note that the 2001-2002 season is unavailable. 

Season Series (Since 1994-1995): Manor leads the season series 2-1 (2-1 on the road).  Before this game, the Blue Jays previously played and won at Cairn, 72-66, on November 16, 1996.  Manor was then in the Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference (EPCC).  Cairn was then known as Philadelphia College of Bible (it was later changed to Philadelphia Biblical University in 2000 and Cairn in 2012) and were National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) members.

Manor versus the NCAA (Since 1994-1995): The Blue Jays are 1-1 overall (1-1 on the road) on the road versus NCAA Varsity teams.  They are also 11-4 overall (9-4 on the road) versus NCAA Junior Varsity teams.  Please note that the 2001-2002 season is unavailable.

Next Game: Manor will travel to play its Eastern States Athletic (ESAC) road opener at USCAA Division II Bucks County Community College (2-2 through November 15) on Saturday, November 19 at Noon in Newtown, Pennsylvania.  Manor leads the season series, 17-7 overall (8-4 on the road) since 1994-1995 (2001-2002 season unavailable).  Bucks County swept the 2021-2022 season series.  The Centurions won 81-77 on November 11, 2021 (at Bucks County) and 112-109 on January 27, 2022 (at Manor).  The Blue Jays previously won on the road in this series on January 28, 2008 (78-64) when they were EPCC members.
