MANOR COLLEGE MEN'S BASKETBALL LOSES  SEASON OPENER IN ELECTRIC CITY CLASSIC SEMIFINAL TO PENNSYLVANIA STATE UNIVERSITY-WILKES-BARRE

SCRANTON, PA—United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Division II Pennsylvania State University-Wilkes-Barre (1-0) senior guard Anthony Picott led both teams with 22 points as the Nittany Lions defeated the Manor College Blue Jays (0-1), 88-43, in the Electric City Classic Semifinals hosted by National College Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Marywood University.

Wilkes-Barre led the entire game.  Manor got twice within two points within the first four minutes of the game.  The Nittany Lions led 39-19 at halftime and outscored the Blue Jays in the second half, 49-24.

Statistical Leaders: Freshman guard Nasir Collins (Trenton, NJ/Nottingham) led Manor with 13 points and both team with 13 rebounds and five steals.  Sophomore guard Sam McFarlane (Abington, PA/Abington) scored 11 points.

In addition to Picott's 22 points, junior forward Jalen Willis contributed 12 points.  Junior center Allen Ozojie led the Nittany Lions and both benches with 12 rebounds.

Season Series (Since 2002-2003): The season series is tied at one.  Manor previously faced Wilkes-Barre on November 10, 2007 in the Turnpike Tournament Championship when the Blue Jays were Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference (EPCC) members.  The Blue Jays won, 104-63.

Manor in Season Openers (Since 1994-1995): Manor is 14-13 overall (1-2 at neutral sites) in season openers.  Please note that the 2001-2002 season information is unavailable.

Manor in In-Season Tournaments (Since 2006-2007): The Blue Jays are 8-9 overall (6-6 at neutral sites) in nine In-Season Tournaments.  Manor have lost two straight In-Season Tournament games.  The Blue Jays last won an In-Season Tournament game on December 3, 2021, defeating USCAA Division II Williamson College of the Trades, 65-48, in the Roadrunner Classic at the Rowan College South Jersey-Gloucester in Sewell, New Jersey.

Next Game: Manor will face USCAA Division II The King's College (New York) in the Electric City Consolation Game on Saturday, November 12 at 2:00 p.m. at Marywood University.  This is the first match-up between the two schools.  King's (New York) lost to host Marywood in the Electric City Semifinals, 107-46.  The Blue Jays are 1-1 in In-Season Tournament Consolation Games since 2006-2007.
