MANOR COLLEGE MEN'S BASKETBALL  ADVANCES TO ROADRUNNER CLASSIC CHAMPIONSHIP WITH WIN VERSUS WILLIAMSON COLLEGE OF THE TRADES

SEWELL, NJ—Manor College (7-3) sophomore guard Eddie Fortescue Jr. (Blue Bell, PA/Wissahickon) led both teams with 16 points as the Blue Jays defeated USCAA Division II Williamson College of the Trades (1-7), 65-48, in the Roadrunner Classic, hosted by NJCAA Division III Rowan College South Jersey-Gloucester.

The Blue Jays led 29-28 at the half.  Williamson senior forward Corhan Mills led both teams with 10 first-half points. 

Manor outscored Williamson in the second half, 36-20. The 20 second-half points allowed by Manor are the fewest in any half this season.  They last time they allowed 20 points in any half was on January 14, 2020 versus Delaware Technical Community College (19 in the first). The last time the Blue Jays allowed 20 or fewer second-half points was on December 15, 2015 versus Rowan College at Burlington County (20).  Fortescue Jr. led both teams with 12 second-half points for the Blue Jays. 

The 48 points allowed by Manor are the fewest in a game this season.  The last time the Blue Jays allowed 50 or fewer points in a game was on December 16, 2017 (48 versus Essex County College). 

Manor's five-game overall winning streak is the longest since they won eight straight from December 2, 2017 through December 19, 2017. 

The Blue Jays advance to its first In-Season Tournament Championship Game since 2008 when they were in the Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference (EPCC).  They defeated Luzerne County Community College, 75-47, in the Turnpike Tournament.  This was also Manor's most recent In-Season Tournament Championship.

Individual Statistical Leaders: In addition to Fortescue Jr., sophomore forward Rahmaad Dejarnette (Chester, PA/STEM) scored 14 points and led Manor with nine rebounds, four steals, and two blocked shots.  Sophomore guard Isaiah Leonard (Philadelphia, PA/Motivation) paced the Blue Jays with five assists. 

Mills led the Mechanics with 12 points.

The Blue Jays in In-Season Tournaments: The Blue Jays are 8-7 in In-Season Tournaments since the 2006-2007 season.  Manor finished third in its previous tournament, the Brandywine Tournament, hosted by Pennsylvania State University-Brandywine, on November 12 and 13, 2021.

Season Series (Since 1994-1995): The Blue Jays are 6-0 overall (4-0 on the road and neutral site) versus the Mechanics.

Next Game: Manor plays NJCAA Region XIX Division III and nationally-ranked Montgomery County Community College Mustangs (11-0) in the Roadrunner Classic Championship, hosted by Rowan College South Jersey-Gloucester 4:30 p.m. Saturday, December 4, 2021 in Sewell, New Jersey.  The Mustangs are ranked third in the latest NJCAA Division III poll (November 29, 2021).  Montgomery County defeated Gloucester, 78-77, in the other semifinal.  Manor is 1-2 overall (0-2 at road and neutral sites).  The Blue Jays previously played the Mustangs on January 12, 2013 in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania.  Manor previously defeated a NJCAA nationally-ranked team on February 11, 2017 versus NJCAA Region XIX Division II Essex County College (75-73).
