MANOR COLLEGE MEN'S BASKETBALL DEFEATS CHEYNEY UNIVERSITY IN BRANDYWINE TOURNAMENT CONSOLATION GAME

MEDIA, PA—Manor College (2-2) freshman forward Enoch Clark (Clearwater, FL/Pinellas Park) led the Blue Jays with 27 points and 11 rebounds as they defeated the Cheyney Wolves (3-4), 88-78, in the Brandywine Tournament Consolation Game.

Manor scored the first 15 points of the game in the opening 4:33.  Cheyney answered and got within six points (23-17) with 10:52 left in the first half on senior guard Cliff St. Juste's layup and made free throw.  The Blue Jays opened up multiple 14-point leads.  Isaiah Leonard's (Philadelphia, PA/Motivation) scored three-point basket to give Manor a 33-19 lead with 7:13 remaining.  Leonard's free throws gave the Blue Jays a 35-21 edge with 5:37 left.  Freshman guard Ivane Mkleidze's (Tbilisi, Georgia/Valley Forge Military Academy [Pennsylvania]) jump shot with an assist by sophomore forward Anthony Floyd (Philadelphia, PA/Engineering and Science) gave Manor a 37-23 advantage with 4:59 remaining.  Freshman guard Jasisah Wright's layup (with an assist by freshman guard Shakir Robinson) and free throw got the Wolves within five points (37-32) with 2:24 left.  St. Juste's layup and free throw got Cheyney within six (41-35) with 0:46 remaining.  Manor led 45-38 at the half.  Enoch Clark led both teams with 18 points and sophomore guard Eddie Fortescue Jr. (Blue Bell, PA/Wissahickon) scored 11.  Sophomore guard Justin Henry paced Cheyney with 12 points and Wright scored 11.

The Blue Jays opened up multiple 13-point leads (51-38 with 18:44 on Enoch Clark's free throws and 53-40 with 18:01 remaining on sophomore forward Rahmaad Dejarette's [Chester, PA/STEM Academy] layup with an assist by Enoch Clark).  Cheyney went on a 16-4 run over the next 4:03 and got within 57-56 on a Jordan three-point basket with a Robinson assist with 14:41 left.  The Wolves got within one again (60-59) with 13:57 remaining another Jordan three-point basket (with an assist by Wright).  The Blue Jays opened up a nine-point lead (80-71) with 3:39 left on a Floyd basket.  The Wolves got within six (84-78) as late as 1:11 left on a Wright layup.  Manor finished off the game on free throws.  The Blue Jays outscored the Wolves in the second half, 43-40.  Leonard and Dejarnette scored 15 and 10 second-half points, respectively.  Henry led both teams with 17 points and Wright added 12.

Individual Statistical Leaders: In addition to Clark, Leonard scored 23.  Fortescue Jr. contributed 16 points.  Dejarnette added 13 points and led both teams with three blocked shots for Manor. 

Henry led both teams with 29 points (including six three-point baskets) and Wright added 23.  Robinson came off the bench and led both teams with five steals and four assists for Cheyney.

Next Game: Manor plays USCAA Division II Central Pennsylvania College (1-2 Overall, 0-0 Eastern States Athletics Conference) 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2021 in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania.  This game was originally scheduled to be at East Pennsboro High School in Enola, Pennsylvania.  Central Pennsylvania will be the home team.  This is the first match-up between the two as four-year schools.  They previously met on January 15, 2008 when both schools were in the Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference (EPCC) (82-68 at Central Pennsylvania).  Since the 1994-1995 season, Manor leads the season-series 24-1 overall (12-1 on the road, including 12 straight wins), including 24 straight wins (not including the 2001-2002 season).
