MANOR COLLEGE MEN'S SOCCER LOSES ROAD MATCH TO MONTGOMERY COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE

BLUE BELL, PA—Montgomery County Community College (1-3-2) sophomore goalkeeper Zachary Kovatch made 17 saves as the NJCAA Region XIX Division III Mustangs-defeated the Manor College Blue Jays (3-4-0), 2-0.

Manor out shot Montgomery County in the scoreless first half, 19 (11 on goal) to three (two on goal). 

On a Montgomery County corner kick, freshman midfielder Kingsley Boateng kicked in the rebound off of Thomas Sweeney's shot inside the six-yard line into the left side of the net (48:30).  Freshman defenseman Gavin McCloskey's pass inside the 18 went to midfielder/forward Chinonyerem Ahukanna.  Ahukanna's shot went into the middle of the net (75:29).  Manor outshot Montgomery County in the second half, 12 (six on goal) to four (two on goal).  The Blue Jays outshot the Mustangs, 31-7, for the match.

Series Record:  Manor leads the season series, 6-2-1 (3-2-0 at Montgomery County) (since 2008).  Before today's match, the Blue Jays and Mustangs previously met on September 20, 2018 (3-2 Manor victory at Montgomery County).  The loss versus Montgomery County snaps a six overall and three-road match winning streaks.  Before this match, the Blue Jays previously lost to the Mustangs, 2-0, on September 15, 2011, at Montgomery County.

Manor versus NJCAA Region XIX Division III (Since 2008): The Blue Jays are 66-63-7 overall (30-37-4 on the road) versus NJCAA Region XIX Division III schools.

Next Match:  Manor travels to play USCAA Division II Williamson College of the Trades (2-4-1, 0-1 Eastern States Athletic Conference) on Thursday, October 14 at 6:30 p.m. in Media, Pennsylvania.  The Blue Jays are 4-0-0 overall (2-0-0 at on the road) versus the Mechanics (since 2008).  Manor won the previous overall match-up, 4-1, on September 27, 2021, at Manor.  The Blue Jays won the previous contest at Williamson, 3-0, on September 28, 2016.  This will be Manor's final regular season road match.
