JENKINTOWN, PA—The 2019-2020 Manor College Athletics season was filled with memorable games and moments. Manor Athletics will chronologically look back at those top games and moments from this past school year. Today's feature is about the Men's Basketball giving Essex County its only regular season 2019-2020 NJCAA Region XIX Division II defeat in an 87-74 home victory on December 14, 2019.
Notes: The Blue Jays won its third straight win at the time, all double-digit triumphs. They also at the time won five of its last six contests, after starting the season 2-6 overall. The victory also improved its home record at the time to 4-1.
This was also the not the first time Manor handed an opponent its only Region XIX Division II regular season loss. The Blue Jays defeated the 16th ranked Wolverines at home, 94-83, on December 14, 2015. However, Essex County gave the Blue Jays its only Region XIX Division II defeat later that season, 93-70, on January 16, 2016. Manor also gave Essex County its only Region XIX Division II loss the next season. The 18th-ranked Blue Jays defeated the second-ranked Wolverines at home, 75-73, on February 11, 2017, on a Kuante Sargent layup at the buzzer. Manor also gave Lackawanna College its only 2017-2018 Region XIX Division II defeat with an 81-74 home victory on December 2, 2017. Altogether, the Blue Jays gave its opponents its only Region XIX Division II loss four consecutive seasons and five times in the last six.
