JENKINTOWN, PA—The 2019-2020 Manor College Athletics season was filled with memorable games and moments.  Manor Athletics will chronologically look back at those top games and moments from this past school year.  Today's feature is about Men's Basketball sophomore guard Jewel Funchess (Philadelphia, PA/Olney) scoring a three-point basket with 0:03.1 left versus NCAA Division III Gwynedd Mercy Junior Varsity in an 84-81 home victory on November 21, 2019.

Highlights: The Griffins tied the game at 81 with 0:24.3 left in the game on freshman forward Rickson Fragoso's hook shot, with an assist by freshman guard Manny Clarke.  Funchess later scored in the ensuing possession, with an assist by sophomore guard Anthony Rodriguez (Philadelphia, PA/Frankford) with 0:05.5 left.  After a Gwynedd Mercy timeout, sophomore guard Jalen Henry's game-tying three-point attempt at the buzzer went off the rim.

Notes: This was the second time in this season that Manor scored the game-winning basket with six or less seconds left in the game.

Quotes: Second-year Head Coach Dave Ellerbee on this game: "Another great game.  We didn't finish the game very well.  It came down to a couple last second shots.  The Assistant Coach from Gwynedd Mercy said to me that they tried Villanova's last second shot to win the championship in 2016.  They got a good shot off. Luckily they missed it.  I You Tube[d] the play and went over it the next day in practice."
