JENKINTOWN, PA—Today's Manor College Athletics Questions and Answers during COVID-19 is with Director of Athletics and Men's Head Soccer Coach John Dempster.

Dempster was named Director of Athletics in January, 2017.  Manor has added seven varsity programs (Baseball, Men's and Women's Cross Country, Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field, and Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field) since he was named Director of Athletics.

He has been the Men's Soccer Head Coach since 2010.  Dempster has guided four Blue Jays' teams to the NJCAA Region Postseason Tournaments (three in Division III and one in Division I).   He has twice won Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Coach of The Year.  Dempster is on the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XIX Soccer Committee, serving as an Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (EPAC) Division I Representative.  He was the team's Assistant Coach from 2002 through 2009.  Dempster was the Blue Jays' Men's and Women's Goalkeeper Coach from 2000 through 2001.

Question: Do you have any tips for working from home?

Dempster: "What works for me is doing what I normally would do (from my morning routine to the end of the work day).  If I just get out of bed and start working, I don't feel right."

Question: How are you connecting with administrators and your coaches and student-athletes?

Dempster: "I am reaching out via e-mail, text, and Zoom."

Question: Do you have any anecdotes/stories on how you are moving forward during COVID-19?

Dempster: "I am confident that we will be back to normal sooner than later. However, I am planning our Fall season with a plan B, C and D (just in case)."

Question: What is your outlook on the upcoming Men's Soccer season?

Dempster: "We are going to have a very talented team this year with one of the largest returning classes in Manor Soccer history.  This retained group, with the new committed recruits, should have us competing for extended season play and maybe even a Championship.  I cannot wait to get the team together and start the season."
