JENKINTOWN, PA—Manor College announces the hiring of Leo Mahon as its Women's Basketball Head Coach by Director of Athletics John Dempster.

Mahon's previous college coaching experience included: Manor College Men's Basketball Associate Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator (2011-2014), Rutgers University-Camden Women's Basketball Assistant Basketball Coach (2002-2004), and Rowan University (1990-1992).  The Rutgers-Camden 2002-2003 Women's team won 22 games and its first New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Tournament Championship.  They also received its first ever NCAA Division III Tournament bid and won its first game.  Rowan's 1991-1992 squad won 23 games and the NJAC Tournament Championship.  They clinched a berth in the NCAA Division III Tournament for the second time in school history.  The 1991-1992 team was also voted NCAA Division III Women's Team of the Year in New Jersey.

His previous high school coaching experience included: West Deptford Junior Varsity Girls (2007-2008), Northern Burlington County Regional Varsity Girls (2005-2006), Lindenwold Junior Varsity Boys (2004-2005), and Ewing Varsity Girls (2003-2004).  He was also the Notre Dame High School Boys' Basketball Associate Head Coach (1998-2000).  Mahon was the team's Defensive Coordinator, which ranked among the top three in Mercer County in fewest points allowed per game for both seasons.  Notre Dame High School Boys' team was ranked by The Trentonian All-Areas Top-10 during the 1999-2000 season.

He was the Director of Basketball Operations for the Penn Jersey Basketball AAU Organization (1996-1999).

Mahon is currently a Special Education Teacher at Nottingham High School and involved in the Work Force Program at Willingboro High School.

He is a 1992 Rutgers University-Camden graduate with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Political Science.  He made the Dean's List and is a Pi Sigma Alpha Member (The National Political Science Honor Society)

Dempster: "I had the privilege of watching Coach Mahon run defensive clinics on a daily basis a few years ago and was always intrigued by his knowledge of the sport.  He took a team of players who thought they knew the game and taught them the beauty of college basketball.  Leo's true talent is teaching the game in a way that players can understand and digest high level offenses and defenses to perfection.  I am looking forward to watching our Lady Jays take the next step."

He succeeds Dave Ellerbee as Manor's Head Women's Basketball Coach.  Ellerbee was recently named the Blue Jays' Head Men's Basketball Coach.

Manor begins its 61st season later this year.
